Privacy policy
Last updated 8 November 2026
This policy explains what information CoverDrive2040 (“the game”, “we”, “us”) uses, why, and the choices you have. The game is made by Vinoth Kumar, an independent developer. Contact: [email protected].
The short version
- Your matches, teams, settings and saved fields are stored on your device, not sent to us.
- On phones the game gives you an account so it can keep your progress: a guest account at first, which you can link to Game Center (iPhone) or Google Play Games (Android). The account is run by Unity Gaming Services.
- On phones the game is free and shows ads through Unity LevelPlay. The ad partners use device information and, if you allow it, your device's advertising identifier.
- We don't sell your information for money, and the game isn't made for children under 13.
- You can delete your account in the game at any time.
Information on your device
The game keeps your settings, match in progress, tournament, team names, saved fields and achievements in the app's own storage on your device. We don't receive it. Deleting the app deletes it.
Your account (iPhone and Android)
The first time you open the game it creates an anonymous player account with Unity Authentication, part of Unity Gaming Services, run by Unity Technologies. This gives you a random player ID; it doesn't use your name or email.
- Game Center (iPhone): if you're signed in to Game Center, the game links your account to your Game Center player ID and uses your Game Center display name. Apple verifies the sign-in.
- Google Play Games (Android): if you're signed in to Google Play Games, the game links your account to your Play Games player ID and uses your display name.
We use the account to recognise you when you come back or change phones. Unity processes this information for us under its privacy policy.
Advertising (iPhone and Android)
The game is free on phones and shows ads at breaks (the innings break and after a match, never during play) through Unity LevelPlay, an ad mediation service, and the ad networks it works with. To show, measure and limit ads and to prevent fraud, the ad partners collect information such as:
- your device's advertising identifier: on iPhone only if you allow tracking when the game asks (App Tracking Transparency); on Android the Google advertising ID, which you can reset or delete in your phone's settings;
- device and app information (model, operating system, language, app version), your IP address and the approximate location it suggests;
- how you interact with ads (views, taps).
If you don't allow tracking, or opt out of personalised ads in your phone's settings, you'll still see ads, but they won't be based on your activity in other apps. These phone settings are how you control personalised ads; the game doesn't have a separate consent screen yet. The game isn't offered in the European Union at the moment.
The ad partners handle this information under their own policies, including Unity's game player and app user privacy policy.
Crash reports
If you've agreed in your phone's settings to share analytics with app developers, Apple or Google may send us crash reports and basic diagnostics. They don't identify you to us.
On PC
The PC version has no ads and no account of ours. If you play through Steam, Valve handles your Steam account under its own privacy policy.
Who we share information with
| Who | What for |
|---|---|
| Unity Technologies (Unity Gaming Services) | Running your player account |
| Unity LevelPlay and its ad networks | Showing and measuring ads, preventing ad fraud |
| Apple (Game Center) and Google (Play Games) | Signing you in, if you use them |
We don't sell your information for money. Sharing device information with ad partners may count as “selling” or “sharing” under some laws, such as California's; you can stop it by not allowing tracking on iPhone or by deleting your advertising ID on Android, or by contacting us.
How long we keep it
Your account stays until you delete it. Information on your device stays until you delete the app. Ad partners keep information for the periods set in their own policies.
Your choices and rights
- Delete your account: in the game, open your profile on the main menu and tap Delete account, or see deleting your account.
- Ads: turn tracking off in iPhone Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking, or reset or delete your advertising ID in Android Settings › Privacy › Ads.
- Access, correction, deletion and objection: depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR, the UK GDPR or California law) you can ask us for a copy of your information, to correct or delete it, or to stop using it. Email [email protected]; we'll reply within 30 days. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
Children
The game isn't directed at children under 13 (under 16 in some countries), and we don't knowingly collect their information. If you think a child has given us information, contact us and we'll delete it.
Where information is processed
Our service providers may process information in the United States and other countries. Where the law requires it, they use safeguards such as the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top and, for significant changes, tell you in the game.
